Harmonization Committee

Our goals

The ICLAS harmonization committee reviews national guidelines relating to the care and use of animals for scientific purposes.

In reviewing the guidelines, the Committee develops international guidelines principles, and recognizes those guidelines which are suitable for implementation internationally.  International guidance for animal care and use is important to facilitate conduct of appropriate animal-based science on a global level and to protect the welfare of animals used in science
